Since the start of construction of the first 5000-ton bulk carrier of UP Trans on November 28th, 2018, in the morning of March 6th, 2019, the second 5,000-ton bulk carrier newly built by UP Trans held an official groundbreaking ceremony. Huang Xin, deputy general manager of UP Trans, attended the groundbreaking ceremony with personnel from the shipping department, operation department, and administration department of our company, and carefully inspected the construction process of the first ship.

The rare good weather in recent days, the construction site of the new ship is full of busy and tense construction scenes. Since the beginning of the year, due to continuous rainy weather, the construction progress of the first ship project has been slightly fallen behind. At present, most of the welding of the bilge structure of the first ship has been completed, the enclosed warehouses have been welded, the first anti-rust paint has been painted, and the outer walls of the side deck of the first ship are being welded. In response to the lagging progress of the first ship construction project, Longfei Shipbuilding said it would speed up the construction to catch up with the progress as soon as possible.

It is reported that the second new ship that started construction on the same day are sister ships with the first ship, and will be constructed of the same ship type. The new ship project personnel will absorb the first ship’s construction experience, fully adopt and summarize the opinions of the first ship project personnel, and avoid the recurrence of the same problems, which will greatly improve the construction efficiency of the new ship and save construction time.
